Slight campaigning type element to this website – there is now an action group growing and building a strong case for re-opening Beattock Station in Dumfries and Galloway.
The Scottish Government has earmarked capital funding for re-opening railway stations where the line is already in place and it’s up to communities and other stakeholders to put their arguments and gather public support.
This would be a major benefit for friends, family and other visitors coming into the region and also for commuters to Glasgow, Edinburgh and cities in England. The forestry industry could take advantage of the station as a freight distribution point it would take some strain off the roads in the region.
Technically this is a customised WordPress theme with an embedded google survey document, facebook page publish and twitter updates, based on a design concept by FNBG.
